About VSR
Volunteers for Social Responsibility (VSR) is an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit organization established in 2023 in Hargeisa, Somaliland, by a group of healthcare professionals and humanitarian aid workers.
VSR strives to enhance the well-being of communities across Somaliland through volunteerism, humanitarian response, and sustainable development initiatives. Guided by the principles of transparency, accountability, and community engagement, the organization is officially certified by the Government of Somaliland and operates with full legitimacy.

Mission: To harness the power of volunteers, partnerships, and resources to mitigate human suffering during emergencies, strengthen health and education systems, protect the environment, and promote social responsibility and resilience across Somaliland.
Our Vision
Vission: A future where human suffering is alleviated through compassion and solidarity, where vulnerable communities are empowered to thrive in dignity and equality, and where social justice, peace, and sustainable development form the foundation of society.
Core Programs and Activities
1. Healthcare & Humanitarian Relief
- Mobilizing volunteers during health emergencies.
- Providing awareness campaigns on preventive healthcare.
2. Education & Youth Empowerment
- Supporting educational initiatives and youth training programs.
- Encouraging volunteerism among university students and graduates.
4. Agriculture & Rural Development
- Training farmers across Somaliland’s rural regions on modern farming practices, including soil management, irrigation, and climate-smart agriculture.
- Promoting sustainable agriculture to improve food security and resilience against climate change.
3. Environment & Climate Action
- Partnering with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to organize nationwide awareness campaigns on tree planting, deforestation prevention, and environmental conservation.
- Co-organizing Somaliland Environment Day, mobilizing youth and communities to participate in tree planting and preservation efforts.
